From the beginning: Episode one

This vlog marks the beginning - the roots of Pedal's inspiration, and its upcoming monthly video-podcast. I treated this cut as if I were starting from scratch, I wanted to explain what this project means to me, what to expect during filming, as well as after, and what I hope to achieve in the end.

I'd love to hear your feedback, your questions, comments, confusions - they will greatly help me in shaping the next episode (and in not getting ahead of myself).

Oh my, I have to suppress my urge for a road trip.

Those last shots of the road and the mountains made me wistful for any kind of adventure.

I have questions. Are your going to recreate the trip? Are you taking a different trip and this time documenting with video?

Is your goal to encourage more people to bike or discover the world of non-fuel transportation?

P.S. I always have questions, it is in the blood. Can't help it.

Peace,

Gena

Rick: More on that soon :)

Gena: Never suppress your urge for road trips! Why would you want to do that.

Yes, that last shot, taken in Death Valley, gets me every time - I could watch that shot go on for 5+ minutes and not get bored. It's hypnotizing to me.

Thanks for the questions - I've received a few emails with similar questions so I'm working on answering those in an upcoming post.

But the short answer to those are: No. Yes. And yes. :)

Just listening and watching this intro inspired me to ponder my next chance to prove myself wrong about failure. In my sedentary case, it is the scary goal of getting my 56-year-old body into better shape through good diet and regular exercise. Impossible! My nerd self-image shouts. Yeah, but think about the Pedal Project. So thanks, and good luck!
